Working as a full-time author means long hours spent alone. This includes many of my solo adventure as well, which means I love talking. Whether as a guest on a podcast, chatting with a book club, or being interviewed for a blog or publication—count me in! I want to hear from you.
My Story
Against my publisher's advice, I went off trail—literally and figuratively—from bestselling thriller author to penning True Nature: Hidden in the High Sierra, an adventure memoir drawn from thirty years of solo exploration across the Sierra Nevada. I wrote it with a specific mission: to show women that the wilderness isn't something to fear, but something that can make you stronger. Even wiser.

The gamble paid off. True Nature has won multiple awards for literary excellence, and the response from readers has surpassed my wildest expectations. Women who’d never set foot on a trail are venturing out! They’re writing to tell me that my book inspired them. That’s more fulfilling than any award or bestseller list.
My message is simple: nature has a way of revealing our true nature. I'm living proof.
I'd love to bring your audience into a real conversation about how adventuring to remote places, especially alone, can change many aspects of our lives for the better. Most people think wilderness is where you go to find yourself. They're wrong. Wilderness is where you go when you're running from yourself—and if you run far enough, nature will teach you how to survive almost anything life throws at you.
